My normal rate is anywhere from 120.00 to 150.00 per hour, for a 2 man crew, with a fuel / truck charge of 30.00 to 75.00 dollars.. ( Across town is the higher travel fuel charge ).

If I go outside of the Austin area, to or from.. I usually base those jobs on a mileage rate mostly. The loading and unloading time is on an hourly basis.. but I also will give flat rates with enough information. Say an Apartment move from Houston to Austin. . If I have solid details of what items will be moved, It’s easier to give a flat rate. For instance, what floors you will be moving to and from and the length of walks also. . Or If there may be an elevator or just stairs.

We do full service moves as well, meaning packing prior to the move and even unpacking if requested. On jobs like this, I like to do a walk through in order to gauge the amount of supplies needed. Also, it helps me to give a more accurate estimate. Texan box is where I’ve been going for many years for supplies. Should you want to pack yourself, they have pretty much everything needed to prepare a move. They’re located in north central Austin.

If you just need some Professional assistance, loading or unloading a truck or shipping container, we/I can help! The one important thing I stress to customers on this subject, is to have enough blankets. A 2 bedroom apartment normally requires around 3 dozen blankets. U Haul rents them for 10 .00 per dozen and it’s well worth it. Having tie down rope is important as well and usually requires around 100 feet. For average full houses 4 to 5 dozen blankets and 150 feet of rope is great. Large homes 6 or 7 dozen blankets is helpful. Especially on long distance moves.. I like to double wrap some items. Also, things like length of walks or whether or not you might need assistance with dis assembly or re assembly of items.. or packing. I bring large, triple thick Gondola boxes on my jobs. These help to tidy up walk in closets, regular closets, some storage and Garage items as well. I don’t mix fragile clean items, with sharp, heavy or dirty items from the garage. I can load these boxes up and dolly them, just about anywhere. Wrapping stretch wrap over the top quickly allows them to be angled safely. They save a lot of time and stress it seems like.
