On your search for a potential mover in Austin, please keep me in mind! I do Full service, Small moving jobs Austin and also Larger in town and Long Distance Moving. Sometimes someone will just want a couch moved across town, to another town or even just an in-house shuffle. When I work alone, it’s Usually 250.00 for a 2 hour minimum. If I bring a helper, 350.00. There are times when I will do a flat rate, for less than this, if its smaller.
Average costs for different sized moves
1 bedroom apartment moves
250.00 to 500.00.
On rare occasions, I’ve been on 1 bedroom moves, where there were long walks, excessive stairs. Also, people sometimes have time consuming bedroom sets etc to dis assemble and re assemble. Walk in closets as well are something I can knock out fairly quickly with large Gondola boxes. A one bedroom, on rare occasion will be more than 500.00 but most always its in the 250.00 to 425.00 / 500.00 range. Having a brief conversation with the customer or getting details through text or email helps as well.
2 bedroom Apartment moves
Like a 1 bedroom, just a little more time. 75.00 to 150.00 more if I bring a helper. 30 to 60 min more work, approximately.
3 bedroom apartments and town homes
With the addition of a garage or backyard, brings the possibility of a 2nd trip. Depending on the distance between someones living spots, I always try and be fair with the trip charges. Most of the time, I just do one trip charge. (50.00 to 75.00 in town). Even with pictures and details, it’s at times hard to decipher how many trips it will take. If I arrive and clearly recognize it will be 2 trips, we float one with lots of blankets. The 2nd one is quick as well. The time spent extra, on the drive to the unload and back, can be minimized if its a quicker load. Packing a trailer or truck tight, takes time that is saved by expediting 2 trips instead, If necessary. Obviously if its a 40 minute drive, from one place to another, ideally we get it all in one trip.
3 bedroom houses and larger
Much like the 3 bedroom apartment or town home. There are times when someone will have an extra large home or floor space/storage. I’ve had some in the past take 3 to 4 trips over 2 or 3 days. I’ve found it works well to spread out the time for the move, to allow the customer to assess things. Over the years, storage gets backed up sometimes and there is the possibility of donation etc. We can just come in though and grab what the customer wants and move it.
Office moves and storage moves
I /we can do fairly large jobs but for larger corporate type moves, there are companies who specialize in this. For a smaller company or home office, I’m usually a good guy to go with. I don’t usually have surcharges for offices.
As far as Storage Moves, I/we can handle just about any sizes. Estimating storage moves is a little more difficult, since I can’t see whats behind. The length of walk, elevator size and speed also is unknown without a walk through. Plus how busy the facility will be on the day of the move, parking etc. We move quickly and safely though and use whatever extra large carts, that are available there.
