Basic Pricing

A typical 1‑bedroom move in Austin usually runs between $300 and $500. Good preparation, short walks, and minimal stairs can help keep costs down. I can also help with packing if needed, and I always bring large gondola boxes for closet items or bulky loose belongings. These work well with or without stairs. I carry dollies, pads, shrink wrap, and tie‑downs for every job.

A 2‑bedroom apartment generally takes a bit longer. For example, a second‑floor unit moved to another second‑floor apartment across town typically takes 3–4 hours if the parking is reasonable. That usually comes to $500–$650, including the truck and travel charge.

For a 1‑ or 2‑bedroom move from central Austin to the Uptown Dallas area, the cost typically ranges from $1,000 to $1,500. Smaller efficiency and 1‑bedroom moves usually fall between $1,000–$1,200. If you’d like a quote, you can send a request through my website or call/text me at 512‑502‑8300. I’m always happy to answer questions and help make your move smooth, affordable, and safe.

Below is a photo of some gondola boxes and how I secure them in the trailer along with other items. I run straps Across the load, as we pack the trailer.

Packing supplies and packing services available

I offer full packing or partial packing if you just need help finishing up.

Here are the supply stores I use:

• TexanBox – Large selection and fair prices
• Half Price Boxes – Good prices and a wide variety
• Lowes.com – Convenient when I need very heavy‑duty boxes quickly
• HomeDepot.com – Similar to Lowe’s; I just don’t recall whether they stock the super heavy‑duty boxes

Storage Tips

If you’re planning to store your items, please think about how your belongings will be protected inside the unit. When loading your items onto my trailer, I use plenty of blankets to cover and secure your furniture. But if your storage unit is tight and we don’t have blankets available during the unload, it can be tricky. Choosing a slightly larger unit can help—more space often means less tight packing and easier stacking. Not everyone wants or needs the larger size, of course, but I can always use empty cardboard boxes to create separation and protection as I load the unit. I always do my best to take care of both your belongings and your budget.

Please consider me as an option for professional movers from Austin to Dallas, or for any move in or around the Austin area.

Thanks,
