I started my business in 2003 and have been working as a mover since 1994 and still enjoy the work. We do small, medium and large jobs. . Storage, commercial and office moves as well. In Austin or to and from Austin and surrounding areas. Most jobs are billed at an hourly rate with a small trip/truck charge. I, at times, will do a flat rate or not to exceed price if requested. If someone is moving to or from out of town, I can often times give a flat rate. Having as many details as possible helps in this. Pictures of the items, terrain outside the dwellings, what floors etc is great info!
Loading / unloading service
If you are only needing assistance with loading or unloading, this is something I / we do regularly. I always suggest that customers make sure they have enough blankets, to protect their furniture, appliances, Tv’s etc. Also, 100 to 150 ft of rope to tie off the load as we go is necessary. I can bring this if you don’t have it. Usually Uhaul and Penske have blankets to lease. Storage/shipping container companies may or may not.
Packing supplies and services
Here is a link to Texan box. They have pretty much anything you might need for packing. I believe there is only one location now in North Central Austin, on Denton lane. A two bedroom apartment requires approximately 100.00 worth of supplies. If you have a lot of breakables, China, pictures, Getting plenty of paper and bubble wrap is great. A large 3 bedroom house, depending on individual living styles, could be 150.00 to 250.00 for supplies.
I use large, triple thick Gondola boxes- 50 by 28 by 22 as well.. These are great for walk in closets, extra storage, some pictures and pillows, blankets and odds and ends. These can be dollied to and from the trailer and slid down / dollied up stairs or carried.
