Hello! My name is Eliot Partridge, I’ve been working as a mover since 1994. I started my business Mighty E’s Moving, in 2003. I usually do jobs with a 2 man crew.. Myself and my helper. I also do jobs by myself at times, when a helper is not needed. This lowers the hourly rate significantly.

For an average one/two bedroom apartment move, from Austin to Dallas.. Most of the charge is the mileage. Say I moved someone from Jollyville, in Austin, to Uptown in Dallas.. A final bill of 1200.00 to 1600.00 is realistic. If there are stairs and long walks, Elevators, this takes more time for the loading and unloading. Say you have a 4 bedroom house and I need to rent an extra truck. The extra charges would be for a driver, extra time loading and unload, truck rental and gas. Obviously there are many different move sizes. I’ve done a college students belongings from Austin to Dallas for 950.00 to 1100.00 and Large houses for around 3000.00. Most people, from my experience, like to pack up their own items. However, I provide packing services as well!

Boxes, paper, tape, bubble wrap, etc. They also have other related equipment that may be of assistance. The rate for a two man crew, for packing, is between 125.00 and 150.00 per hour. A lot of times I can do it alone for 90.00 per hour. Average cost for supplies for a two bedroom apartment is 50.00 to 100.00. A large house could be 125.00 to 300.00. I also use extra large Gondola boxes. These can be dollied through a house, to and from the trailer. Also slid down the stairs and even two wheel dollied or carried, up the stairs. They are very helpful with moving closet or garage items, when a person is overwhelmed with packing and the moving process. I don’t charge for them.. Only the time it takes, which isn’t excessive.

Sometimes it’s easier to rent a Uhaul, Penske, Budget truck or from Enterprise and do it yourself or with friends.
