At times, I will do all the packing and unpacking myself but definitely have helpers as well. Usually a one bedroom apartment is 2 to 3 hours or so, to pack, just me. A 3 bedroom townhome, 3 to 6 hours with 2 of us. Supplies range from $30 to $75 for a one bedroom and $100 to 200 for a small home.
On every move, regardless if it’s a pack job or not, I bring Gondola boxes. These are giant, triple thick, dolly -able transport containers that are great for closets or extra garage stuff, storage etc.. A lot of times its difficult to get everything prepared fully for the customer and these are a huge help. It’s a helpful option to avoid extra ‘trips in the car.’

I started moving in 1994 back in Nebraska and did it for part time – full time work. I never got into a corporate career and found that I liked the physical work. In 2003 I had moved back to Austin and decided to start a small moving business and here I am today. I really enjoy the work and the familiarization of it having done it for so long. It’s nice to be able to do something I enjoy and also be able to ‘consult’ people on their moves, over the phone or in person. I do free walk throughs or sometimes folks like to send me pictures of their items, or a quick video. This helps to dial in a more accurate estimate.
