Owner operated small business / Mightyemoving.com

I started Mighty E’s moving in 2003. Please consider my services if your looking for Professional Austin moving. I had been a mover off and on for about 8 years and saw an opportunity to drum up some work. I had been a Piano mover for Strait music company and other companies in town . I had also done moving work back in Nebraska, where I grew up mostly. Working for myself seemed inviting as well and I enjoyed physical work and exercise. It’s always nice to to help people relocate their belongings; having the skills and tools to do so.

Local and Long distance moving to and from Austin

I do small single item moves, washers and dryers, refrigerators, in-house only moves, bedroom sets, living room sets, etc. Apartments, offices, storages and homes. Sometimes people do multiple stops on the way to a final destination or even multiple destinations as well. At times, I need to make more than one trip, being as I only have this one trailer but can lease 2nd and 3rd trucks if needed. Doing a second trip usually works price wise though for the customer, if the locations are close. There are other moving companies around the have much larger trailers and multiple trucks and trailers. I usually run a 2 man crew. Myself and my helper. I also do plenty of smaller jobs on my own, which lowers the hourly rate.

I also do a decent amount of longer distance moves within Texas. To and from Houston, Dallas, San Antonio etc. Even Lubbock, Midland /Odessa, Amarillo or El Paso. It really just depends on the type of job and whether or not I feel I can comfortably, safely and professionally complete the move. I’ve been moving for almost 30 years and have seen quite few variables. I can usually assess what you need done upfront, accurately and give an estimate within reason.

Labor only / loading and unloading of your truck or container

Renting a truck or container to have shipped can be a great option. A lot of times I can do the full job though, for about the same price as if a person rents a vehicle. However, if leasing a truck or container is the way you go, here are a couple of tips to save damage and to help expedite the loading.

  1. Have plenty of blankets and rope to protect and secure your items. A one/ two bedroom apartments worth of stuff, I’d say having 2 to 3 dozen blankets is nice to have. For a three bedroom house, I’d suggest at least 4 dozen blankets. When I bring supplies for folks, This is what I shoot for and 100 to 150 feet of tie down rope.
  2. If your renting from U-haul or Penske etc.. Make sure to talk to the actual pick up location the day before and verify they will have your requested blankets. Sometimes they run short and you end up having to run around town to other locations for them.

Questions about potential moves

Please call if I can help answer any questions about your move or potential move. I can sometimes save people time and headaches just by sharing my experience with them and I’m glad to do so! I also do free quick walk throughs when/If needed but can decipher a lot over the phone too.

Here is a place to get supplies as well. Texanbox.com
